Sports Massage

Sports and remedial massage works with the soft tissue of the body such as muscles, tendons and connective tissues. The therapist can use different techniques to reduce muscle pain, increase flexibility, improve your range of motion and re-balance your posture. It can work really well in conjunction with other therapies such as osteopathy and physiotherapy.

In the first session, there will be a consultation where you will discuss your medical history, background information and have an assessment to decide the treatment that is needed for you. It would be useful if you could wear a pair of shorts for the postural assessment, although this is not essential.

Stress relief massage

Many people suffer with back and neck pain. This pain can often be caused by stress which creates tension within the muscles, especially around the shoulders and neck. This can then cause stress. Having a sports massage is an extremely effective way of reducing this muscle tension because it manipulates the muscles.

Sports massages assist with stress reduction and relaxation. During a massage, the heart rate and blood pressure lowers making you feel more relaxed and less stressed.
