Cheryl Fenton
Cheryl's first encounter with Pilates was back in the late 1980’s as a young teenager training with the Sadlers Wells ballet company. As a devoted ballet dancer she had the privilege of dancing with not only Sadlers Wells, but also the National and the Royal ballet companies all before she reached the age of 15. Cheryl's life then took a very different route, one which led her to find Yoga in the mid 90’s. She has trained with many different instructors and still to this day loves experiencing the hugely diverse teaching styles of this ancient art.
Cheryl took her teacher training with the British school of yoga, in 2003, followed by Pilates, children’s yoga, and Ashtanga yoga soon after. More recently she has also completed Yoga therapy training.
Cheryl is a BSY Associate, and accredited with The Yoga Alliance and The British wheel of yoga, through her work with the Prison Phoenix trust.
She teaches a wide and diverse range of students from toddlers to the elderly, all who require a very different approach. She loves nothing more than being able to help a student and coming up against something of which she has no knowledge, gives her great pleasure in being able to learn and grow. She loves to learn, and is currently working her way to Reiki level 2, whilst gaining a more in-depth knowledge on our energy centres, Chakras.
Both yoga and Pilates hold a special place in her heart, Cheryl loves the rhythms of the yogic teachings and appreciate the more physical practices of Ashtanga and the importance of a balancing yin practice something of which she love to pass on.
Cheryl is available for Pilates and yoga at our Sheerness Studio
